| Kiefer Sutherland werkt mee aan Call of Duty: World at War |

Dat Treyarch veel uit de kast trekt om World at War succesvol te maken, wordt steeds duidelijker. De bekende acteur Kiefer Sutherland zal namelijk zijn stem verlenen aan een karakter uit de singleplayer. Welk karakter dat is, is nog niet duidelijk.
 Dat werd gisteren door Mark Lamia, Tryarchs studio head tijdens de E3 persconferentie bekend gemaakt. De meeste mensen kennen de acteur als Jack Bauer, het hoofdpersonage van de serie 24.
Call of Duty: World at War gaat terug naar de Tweede Wereldoorlog-setting en speelt af in Oost-Azië, waar je tegen de Japanners moet vechten. Deze keer is het niet Infinity Ward die de game ontwikkelt, maar ontwikkelaar Treyarch. Waren de vorige delen uit de franchise, Call of Duty 2: The Big Red One en Call of Duty 3 geen groot succes geworden, ontwikkelaar Treyarch belooft dat World at War iets speciaals zal worden. Het is niet dezelfde Tweede Wereldoorlog setting, maar het is iets compleet nieuws. Zo zal de tactiek van de Japanse tegenstander aangepast worden aan die tijd.
Call of Duty: World at War komt voor de PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii (met ondersteuning voor de Wii Zapper controller) en Nintendo DS. Er wordt gebruik gemaakt van een gemodificeerde versie van de CoD4 engine en er komen nieuwe wapens, zoals een vlammenwerper. Ook zijn de perks weer terug. De multiplayer wordt uitgebreid met speciale gametypes waarin je voertuigen kunt gebruiken.
Het spel zal rond 11 november dit jaar in de winkels liggen en, zoals meestal het geval is, voor de PC rond de 60 euro kosten. Of en wanneer er een demo uitkomt, is nog niet bekend. Bekijk de trailer van CoD:WaW hier. |
