Ooit sprak Infinity Ward’s community manager FourZeroTwo tot de community dat het onmogelijk is om voertuigen in Call of Duty 2 multiplayer te plaatsen. De reden was dat het nieuwe ontwikkelde engine voor Call of Duty 2 simpelweg geen voertuigen support. Onmogelijk? Eerder deze maand zijn de eerste jeeps en vliegtuigen in servers gesignaleerd.

Call Of Duty 2 runs on a new and further developed game engine seperate from that used by Gray Matter Studios for COD:UO, that was not coded to support vehicles in Multiplayer. Therefore, you are unable to simply add code which will allow for multiplayer vehicles’’, waren de woorden van Fourzerotwo. Toch heeft een nog onbekende moddeler het voor elkaar gekregen vliegtuigen én jeeps in de multiplayer te krijgen.
Spectaculair is het overigens niet, dat komt mede door de bugs die aanwezig zijn. Het is dan geen battlefield 2 niveau, maar het is heerlijk om de zwevende spitfire’s en stuka’s over je beeldscherm te zien vliegen (te besturen met muis; landen/opstijgen is niet mogelijk) en de vele jeeps die rondscheuren over het leven.

het is niet slecht maar de server stikt gewoon van de lag :s daarnaast vind ik de besturing van de auto s ook maar vreemd zo moet je shift induwen om gas te geven (wat bij dus niet werkte^^) De vliegtuigen heb ik niet eens kunnen proberen  |

Kijk - zo iets zou CoD2 veel beter gemaakt KUNNEN hebben, maar IW en Activision hadden er teveel uitgelaten of uitgehaald  . |

Leuk.. maar hoe groot moeten die maps worden? 3fps ftw?  wordt dan zo n BF2 game waar je gewoon alles kunt platgooien via de lucht. Toch respect voor hun.
