Het officiële Playstation Magazine heeft in het recentste nummer enige wereldexclusieve hands-on van Call of Duty 3 gepubliceerd. In het artikel komen verassende feiten aan het licht. De journalisten van OPM waren razend enthousiast over de aankomende Treyarch titel. De afsluiting van het artikel mocht dat maar eens bevestigen: Geen twijfel over mogelijk, Call of Duty 3 wordt een topper!
Singleplayer
● De verschillende routes (‘player choice routes’) zorgen voor een unieke spelerervaringen die het spel zeer ten goede zullen komen.
● Het spel zal tussen de levels geen laadtijden meer bevatten, de veldslagen worden aan elkaar gekoppeld door cinematics.
Multiplayer
● Alle gametypes van Call of Duty 2 en voegt er twee nieuwe modes aan toe: war en single Flag Capture the Flag (beide team based).
● Op de next-gen consoles gaat het tot 24 spelers online, op de PS2 tot 16.
● De multiplayer is veel uitgebreider dan in Call of Duty 2 en is character class based zoals in Battlefield .
● Er zijn zeven verschillende klassen (rifleman, infantry, assault, medic, scout, support en anti-armour), elk met specifieke wapens.
● Niet alle levels bevatten voertuigen. Tanks zijn ook uit te schakelen door erop te klimmen en een granaat naar binnen te gooien.
