We hebben al lang niets van ze gehoord. Maar een medewerker van IW heeft enkele dagen geleden gereageerd op berichten van forumgebruikers op het officiële IW forum.

Well a lot of times I (personally) just dont have the time to sit here and reply to every post, but I do read them and see what people are talking about. I dont know what more communication you guys expect, we saw a need for a patch based on our personal experiences with playing the game online and from feedback from forums, and we released info that a patch is in the works. If you expect an exact date for the patch to be released then Im sorry. Often times us developers dont even know when that is, since we want to make sure that it s a good patch, and not a patch needing another patch, it s the "it s done when it s done" type of thing really, but we do have lots of people working overtime to get it done asap. We are all just as anxious for it to be released as you guys are, remember...we do play our own game online frequently :)

Hey guys, I believe I understand completely the type of communication you all want, and I dont blame you, so I m doing my best here. I can t name specific issues the patch fixes for legal reasons, it s not my job to announce things like that and I dont want to get myself in trouble. However, I personally believe that all the gripes will be gone after this patch. We re in the final state for both the 360 and the pc patches, and we have addressed almost all of the major issues that we heard about. I ll see what I can do to get more info to you guys in the future, but be patient and keep an eye out for the patch, I have no doubts you will all be satisfied.
Het is duidelijk dat ze een goede maar vooral grootte patch willen uitbrengen, geen patch voor een patch zoals ze al zeggen. Helaas stellen ze geen datum vast, dus het wordt afwachten. Eerder gaf het Franse Infinity Ward wel wat informatie over de patch. Lekkere communicatie.

Before leaving for a much-deserved long weekend (not that long, not that long), we pass on a short bit which arrived from Activision. Very happy with the success attained by their WWII action game Call of Duty 2, the publisher states that a very large patch will be available very soon.
Additionally, they will integrate PunkBuster, the (more or less) effective anti-cheat software which is integrated into many [other] games. This patch will also include some additional tools, and will make various improvements to an already-excellent game (see our review). Finally, and undoubtedly most importantly, there will be many new multi-player maps.
As the Yankees say, "stay tuned!"

| ik denk, dat we overdondert zullen worden door de nieuwe patch: vooral omdat de patch zo groot is, mag je een hoop nieuwe dingen verwachten... en zullen de stakers van een paar maanden terug ook wel eindelijk eens begrijpen dat IW bezig was met iets groots en goeds!

Uhm ze lezen niet op het forum van callofduty.nl maar www.iwnation.com/Forum dat is het officiele forum waar echt alles wordt geplaatst.
Ik hoop ook dat deze patch zéér goed wordt zodat er geen cheaters meer zijn en dat punkbusters deze keer ZONDER fouten werkt. Want in COD1 en UO hadden veel mensen last van PB_INIT_FAILURE.
De mappen die komen moeten niet te groot zijn anders is er geen fun. Maar gewoon middelgrote mappen. Zodat je er goed S&D en TDM kunt spelen. De maps die ze nu hebben zijn te klein voor de servers met 64 man. Dan spawn je en ben je meteen dood.
Hopen dat deze maps wat groter zijn en ook dat de SDK tool gereleased wordt! |

Während der lange angekündigte große Patch für Call of Duty 2 nach wie vor auf sich warten lässt, werkelt Entwickler Infinity Wards schon längst am dritten Teil. Die Arbeiten scheinen schon weit gediehen zu sein: In einer Telefonkonferenz zur Bekanntgabe der aktuellen Finanzzahlen bestätigte Publsiher Activision, dass Call of Duty 3 bereits im Herbst erscheinen soll -- also ungefähr ein Jahr nach der letzten Episode. Der Grund für die hastige Fortsetzung ist klar: Call of Duty 2 war in den USA das zweiterfolgreichste Spiel zwischen Oktober und Dezember 2005 für den PC. Auf der Xbox 360 hat der Weltkriegsshooter bislang alle anderen Titel in die Schranken verwiesen.

Ik denk ook dat het nog heel lang gaat duren want volgens mij gaan ze een NOG betere engine ontwerpen dan ze voor COD2 hebben. Denk eens in hoe het dan allemaal gaat uitzien.

Auf der Hp von der die Operation Market Garden Mod ist zu lesen, das die Mod mit ihren etwa 750MB fertig zum Downloaden ist. So wie es ausschaut suchen sie zurzeit noch einige Mirrors um den Download für alle zu gewährleisten.
Operation Market-Garden war der Codename für eine gescheiterte Luft-Boden-Operation der Alliierten im Zweiten Weltkrieg. Sie fand zwischen dem 17. und dem 27. September 1944 in den niederländischen Provinzen Noord-Brabant und Gelderland statt und hatte das Ziel, die deutsche Siegfriedlinie zu umgehen und den englischen und amerikanischen Truppen einen raschen Vorstoß ins Deutsche Reich zu ermöglichen.

| Er is op het laatste moment een bug gevonden, die veroorzaakte dat sommige SP maps niet opstartten. Bovendien bestaat ons team nog uit 3 mensen, en moesten de laatste tijd veel corrigeren. Maar er zit vast nog wel wat in.
Anyway, die error is opgelost. Het is nu aan onze providers om de mod erop te zetten (als ik het goed heb).
Het duurt zeker niet lang meer, en hij is voor einde van de maan wel uit. Met zelfs meer SP levels dan gepland (Ik meen nu een stuk of 8-10) |
