Sony heeft in een kort persbericht laten weten dat de Playstation 3 pas in maart 2007 in Europa zal verschijnen. Ook andere landen als Rusland, Afrika, Australië en het Midden-Oosten zullen de next-gen console van Sony een paar maanden later dan gepland zien releasen. Daarentegen zal de lancering in Japen op 11 novemberen de Amerikaanse op 17 november gewoon doorgaan. Call of Duty 3 is een titel voor de Playstation 3.
De oorzaak van de vertraging is een probleem bij de massaproductie van de Blu-ray speler. Het gevolg van de vertraging is ook dat spellen als Call of Duty 3 in Europa pas te zien zullen zijn in maart, terwijl het spel al veel eerder verschijnt op onder andere de next-gen console Wii.
