De mappacks voor Call of Duty 2 heeft rond de een miljoen dollar (ongeveer 775.000 euro) opgeleverd voor Activision, dat heeft GameSpot gisteren verklaard in een onderzoeksrapport.
Al enige tijd lang wordt er voor Xbox live gebruikers speciale mappacks gemaakt. Gebruikers kunnen deze voor een bedrag downloaden. Zo telde the free bonus pack (twee maps) 334.000 downloads. De $5 Skirmish Map pack was goed voor 105,00 downloads en leverde een bedrag op van $368,000. De onlangs uitgebrachte $10 Invasion Map Pack werd door 66,000 360s lustige gamers binnengehaald, ook dat was goed voor een aanzienlijk bedrag, namelijk zo rond de half miljoen. In totaal dus een bedrag rond de 1 miljoen dollar. Een gat in de markt dus.
