De multiplayer van Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is vanaf 'point zero' opgebouwd. Het team heeft de multiplayer van Black Ops op tafel gegooid en alle slechte elementen weggegooid. Volgens David Vonderhaar is dit dé multiplayer die iedereen wil spelen. Het punt waar Vonderhaar op nadrukt is "One size does not fit all". Hij bedoelt hiermee dat dit de best gebalanceerde Call of Duty tot nu toe gaat worden. Er gaan zelfs geruchten rond dat Create-a-class, killstreaks, challenges en andere elementen uit de multiplayer verkleind of verwijderd worden. Dit zodat er geen scheiding meer bestaat tussen de pro's en de noobs, zodat iedereen kan genieten van een potje Black Ops 2. Maar niet alleen voor de gewone spelers wordt het leuk. Treyarch besteed namelijk extra aandacht aan de 'kijker' van de game. Hiermee doelt men op bijvoorbeeld E-sports. De spectator mode krijgt een aantal flinke upgrades en het wordt dus leuker om toe te kijken. De servers worden volledig vernieuwd en er werd stiekem gehint naar dedicated servers voor de PC. De multiplayer speelt zich alleen in het jaar 2025 af. Er zijn twee mappen getoont aan de pers. De eerste map is een stad in Yemen. De tweede map heet 'Aftermath'. Deze map speelt zich af in een kapot geschoten 'Downtown Los Angeles'. |

Bij mw3 zeiden ze ook dat het de meest gebalanceerse cod ooit werd maar daar is ook niks van waar. Maar ik heb wel geloof in dit geheel nieuwe cod.

| Back to basics. Het werd naar mijn mening inderdaad al te veel gekkigheid. Treyarch is goed bezig. Ben inmiddels gestopt met gamen, maar ze maken het me wel erg verleidelijk. |

Er staat on dat ze de create a class gaan verkleinen of verwijderen.
Ik denk als dat gaan doen er veel mensen zojn die het spel niet gaan kopen. |

| Ten eerste als ze de Create A Class weghalen dan is dit geen COD meer hoor. Ten tweede in Call Of Duty is het gewoon standaard en dat is altijd al geweest dat er noobs zijn zelfs de killstreaks worden MISSCHIEN weggehaald of verkleind als het ergens om gaat in Call of Duty dan is dat wel de killstreaks want daar speel je toch voor om zoveel mogelijk kills te halen in een potje. En als laatste de challenges dat is het leukste wat er is dan heb je tenminste een uitdaging zoals 1000 Headshots maken met je wapen daarvoor ga je spelen zodat je weer een leuke Title krijgt ofzo. |

CoD4 was nog leuk, omdat C-a-C en Killstreaks heel beperkt waren!
