De kloof tussen Infinity Ward en de pc-community is groot, heel erg groot. Veel te laat uitgekomen patches, geen support en weinig interesse van de kant van Infinity Ward heeft er voor gezorgd dat de community weinig vertrouwen meer heeft in de ontwikkelaar. Wonderen bestaan want er is blijkbaar leven in het IW hoofdkantoor en ze hebben daar zelfs aangegeven de kloof ook kleiner te willen maken. Een topic, verscholen in het officiële forum:

Het topic- What are you up to Iw moet de community overtuigen dat ze nooit zijn vergeten en dat ze alleen maar meer aandacht zullen krijgen. So stay confident and stay true , zijn een van de woorden waarmee de manager de post vult; een irritante toontje dat lonkte naar smekende en vergevende brieven begon mij te irriteren. De manager belooft weliswaar dat de community veel meer support zou krijgen, en dat met nieuwe projecten, evenementen, toernooien en goodies wilde bereiken, de reputatie blijft.
Jammer genoeg wist de manager niet meer informatie over toekomstige titels te geven. Wel wist de manager duidelijk te maken dat er heus nog wel een Call of Duty komt voor de PC en dat speculaties over dat Call of Duty 3 (consoleversie) een toekomstige pc-versie deed verdwijnen onzin is. Call of Duty 3 is een Treyarch titel, en is niet ontwikkeld door IW. Laat me alleen zeggen, dat IW altijd een PC game developer is geweest, we hebben altijd onze titel gereleased op de pc , aldus de community manager. Zoals begrijpelijk had Infinity Ward nooit controle kunnen hebben over de ontwikkelingen van Call of Duty 3.
Een excuses aan het eind en nog maar eens de aankondiging van de nieuw IW website [half/eind augustus] deed een veel belovend topic sluiten. Of de dam al gebroken is moet nog maar uitblijken. Infintiy Ward heeft, dan wel te laat, zijn fout ingezien, maar probeert gelukkig de fout ook goed te maken, met fourzerotwo op de voorgrond.

| omg idereen loopt modern warfare alweer af te zeiken terwijl ze geen idee hebben wat voor spel het zal worden, ik hoop juist dat cod4 moderner gaat dan wo2. een spel is echt niet goed als het over wo2 gaat of slecht als t over deze tijd gaat. de bf serie heeft een hele andere style en gameplay als de cod serie en dus heeft bf niets met cod te maken, het lijkt me leuk om de cod gameplay in een moderne omgeving te spelen. en als ze voro modern warfare kiezen dan worden jullie echt niet verplicht dat te spelen dus waarom zou je "dag zeggen tegen cod en activision" ? |

| Precies en DAT is wat we iedereen vertellen makaveli, maar sommige mensen hebben te weinig intelect om te begrijpen dat als je eenmaal een Tweede Wereld Oorlog serie hebt, het een ZEER onverstandige zet is om een modern warfare spel uit te brengen dat hetzelfde heet.
