De speculaties gaan over en weer. Zo werd er al in een eerder interview met Grant Collier gespeculeerd dat Call of Duty 4 wel eens geen wo2-shooter kon worden. De producer viel namelijk stil toen de vraag gesteld werd of Call of Duty 4 een modern oorlogspel of een wo2-shooter zal worden. Nu melden meerdere magazines en sites, waaronder het officiële Xbox magazine, dat Call of Duty 3 wel eens de laatste game van Infinity Ward is dat zich afspeelt in de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

| @Tijgertje: In WO1 was er zelfs een grotere variatie aan geweren dan in WO2.
Zo had je ongv. 6 verschillende versies van de Lee-Metford en nog 12 van de Lee-Enfield.
Je had de G98, K98AZ, K88, enz enz, Lebel, Berthier, enz enz.
Er was zat, en loopgraven bestorming was ook niet het enigste, je had ook fortbestormingen, slagen op open velden, landingen in de Middellandse Zee, etc. |

@nTr: Nope, de MP40 is in 1940 in dienst genomen en stamde af van de MP38 die weer deels gebaseert was van de MP36.
En deze komen allemaal weer uit op de Bergmann MP-18i die wel in WO1 gebruikt was.
Ook had je de Italiaanse Beretta M1914, de Cei-Rigotti, de Russische Fedorov, en zat andere submachinegeweren en machinepistolen.  |

Waarom doen ze niet iets over korea of zo. Daar is ook behoorlijk gevochten. En opzich spreekt me ww1 ook wel aan. Want voor zo ver ik weet is daar nog nooit serieus een shooter over gemaakt. |

| plz edit: CoD3 is van TreyArch dus bedoel je dat COD2 de laatste WO2-shooter is van IW of COD4? Ik neem aan CoD2.Leuk idee WO1 sinds er veels te weinig begrip is voor WO1 i.v.m. de extremistischere tint van WO2 gezien politieke ideen, maar WO1 was vergeleken met WO2 geen klein oorlogjuh x-/. Ik steun IW in een WO1-shooter, de hedendaagse oorlogen zijn niet eens in de buurt van wat WO1 voor verhaallijn en intensiteit kan brengen! |

| h0bb1t, Je bent wel erg zielig, MOHAA is een erg oud spel en één van de eerste ww2 shooters, en hij was nog modern in zijn tijd ook.
Mocht je dus oudere maar goede spellen afkraken, dan kraken we de oude, slechte jou straks misschien ook af ^^.
Maar in ieder geval jongens, COD + ACTIVISION = VERLEDEN TIJD!
Weg met die rotzooi, geen fatsoenlijke CoD2 patches, geen aandacht aan PC community, geen CoD3 op PC en als final touch CoD serie wordt straks misschien ook nog ver n e u k t (Sorry, moest ik even zeggen.) door het ó zo slimme bedrijf Activision.
Nee even serieus, ik meen het, hun verkopen zullen straks zo gigantisch kelderen dat ze er in het rood door komen te staan. |
