Infinity Ward heeft in een interview met Game Head meer informatie gegeven over de Prestige Mode. De nieuwe mode in de multiplayer van Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare zorgt ervoor dat gamers bij het behalen van levelrank 65 weer terugvallen naar levelrank 1. Zodoende raak je al je vrij gespeelde materiaal kwijt, maar zal een 'prestige rank' icoontje aangeven dat je levelrank 65 al hebt behaald. Klik hier om de beelden te bekijken.
Bij het terugvallen naar levelrank 1 zal je zogezegd al je vrij gespeelde materiaal kwijtraken, waaronder wapens en experience en challanges. Zo zal je weer levels moeten stijgen om het materiaal weer vrij te spelen. Andere gamers kunnen wel zien dat je de prestige mode hebt behaald. Een speciaal icoontje zal verschijnen in de 'lobby, leaderboard en in de game'.
Infinity Ward verklaard de mod te hebben gebruikt om gamers zo te belonen met het goede spel. 'Het geeft je het 'Ik ben geweldig'- idee,'' aldus Infinity Ward.
