Infinity Ward en Activision hebben een goede slag geslagen met Modern Warfare 2, dat blijkt wel uit de verkooplijsten. Het pareltje staat namelijk al weken steevast in de top 3 van best verkochte game. Qua verkochte aantallen zit het met Modern Warfare 2 dan ook wel goed, maar nu lijkt het financieel ook helemaal fantastisch te zijn. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has exceeded our expectations and shattered theatrical box office and video game records De game die amper twee maanden uit is, vloog namelijk zo vaak over de toonbank dat de opbrengt van de game is gestegen naar iets meer dan één miljard en dat is ongekend. Er zijn maar weinig multimedia producten die dat voor elkaar krijgen. Om er een aantal te noemen: Avatar, Harry Potter: And the Half-Blood Prince en The Dark Knight. Activision en Infinity Ward kunnen erg tevreden zijn met dit resultaat. Die 1 miljard dollar hebben ze niet verdiend aan de hand van de pc versie van de game, maar meer aan de hand van de console versie. Ze hadden meer kunnen verdienen als ze ook dedicated server, lean, /record hadden in de pc versie. Dus ik denk dat ze vast nog wel 1 of half miljard hebben misgelopen.
Je heb er al +/- 60 euro voor uitgegeven en dan willen ze ook nog DLC erbij doen.
Ze zijn niet goed in hun boverkamer daar bij IW en ik kan je alleen zegen dat ik blij dat ik de game niet meer heb. |

Dedicated servers zijn gewone server die bij je thuis staan of bij een hosting zoals i3d, daarop worden gameserver geinstalleerd dit zijn vaak linux pakketen en dan kan je je eigen instellingen gebruiken per server dus hoeveel minuten de map mag duren als je wel of geen punkbuster wil gebruiken en dat soort onzin.
Nu via steam gebruiken ze geen dedicated server dus kan je niet je eigen servertje opzetten alleen een private match maar dat is weer iets anders.
Mijn persoonlijke voorkeur is dedicated servers maar cod6 gebruikt dit niet dus naja dan maar op steam servertjes spelen he.

IW heeft zich verbrand, wees daar maar zeker van.
Als we over PC games spreken, denk ik dat IW verleden tijd is. Toch voor de serieuzere gamers. Wie kan nog vertrouwen schenken aan IW nu ze zoiets geflikt hebben.

Tis gewoon jammer dat je niks meer van de makers hoort.
Voordat de game uitkwam schreeuwden ze het van de daken en nu hoor je helemaal niks meer. En die patches die uitkomen voor PC zijn nou ook niet echt om blij van te worden.
Ik hoop dat de hele community straks overstapt naar Battlefield: Bad Company (wel dedicated servers).
Maar ja aan de andere kant, als ik 1 miljard dollar verdiend zou hebben en iedereen stapt daarna over op een andere game. Dan kom ik toch een half jaar later met een nieuwe.
Hoppa, kassa
Maar je voelt je wel belazerd, tis wel een game met een enorme potentie wat er helaas nu niet uitkomt.
