Het Playstation-magazine PlayStationPure, beweert dat zij uit betrouwbare bron heeft vernomen dat Call of Duty 7 niet in Vietnam zal afspelen. Dit gaat tegen de hardnekkige geruchten in dat Call of Duty 7 wel in Vietnam zal afspelen. Verantwoordelijke uitgever Activision-Blizzard heeft het magazine gevraagd nog niet te publiceren wat de daadwerkelijke setting is. Nu rijst de vraag natuurlijk, waar speelt Call of Duty 7 zich dan wel af? Blijft het nog even hangen in de Tweede Wereldoorlog, of maken zij ook de overstap naar het moderne slagveld? 2010 Biedt twee sterke tegenhangers van Call of Duty aan, namelijk Battlefield: Bad Company 2 en de nieuwe Medal of Honor, welke beide afspelen in een moderne setting. We zullen zien wat Treyarch voor ons in petto heeft in november dit jaar. |

Als Treyarch óók een Modern Warfare-game gaat maken zeg ik mijn baan op, ik ben dat simplistische thema namelijk helemaal zat. Bad Company 2 is nog wel leuk om eens online te knallen, en Medal of Honor omdat ik wel benieuwd ben naar de reboot van de franchise, maar daar moet het dan ook echt mee ophouden.
Historische games vind ik veel interessanter en ik hoop toch op een goeie Koude Oorlog-game. Hopelijk betekent dit bericht de Korea-oorlog ofzo ipv Vietnam (*BF Vietnam herinstalleren gaat*), maar als Treyarch net zo'n soort spel gaat maken als Infinity Ward dan heb ik weinig interesse meer. Wel een beetje leuk voor de singleplayer, maar Modern Warfare in combinatie met Call of Duty gaat naar mijn mening gewoon nergens meer over, online.

Vietnam is imo wél een slecht idee, er zijn zéér weinig studio's in geslaagd om de setting volledig tot zijn recht te laten komen!
En WO1 is logisch, die wordt het niet... Althans, als ze een beetje slim zijn toch. In WO1 bleef iedereen in de loopgraven, en werden de meesten gewoon vergast, of werden ziek in de loopgraven met de dood tot gevolg... Er was ook een beperking in wapens en ammo. |

Een Vietnam setting lijkt me wel aardig. Een mooie uitgebreide SP campaign. Als ze het spel een verbeterde versie van Vietcong maken, kunnen ze echt een topper in hun handen hebben.
