De release van Modern Warfare 2 was een groot en gezellig spektakel, een aantal winkels (waaronder de Mediamarkt in Rotterdam) besloot om haar deuren om 00.00 te openen voor de diehard-gamers. Allemaal leuk een aardig, maar er dook een probleem op: de volgende dag was een normale werkdag/schooldag voor iedereen, vrijstelling voor Modern Warfare 2 zat er niet in, en ook niet voor een Engelse rechter.. Een Engelse rechter van achtenveertig jaar oud wist Modern Warfare 2 ook om 00.00 te bemachtigen. Hij besloot zo snel mogelijk naar huis te gaan en de hele nacht door te gamen. De rechter keek op zijn klok en zag tot zijn verbazing dat het al tijd was om richting zijn werk te vertrekken, maar dat zag hij niet zitten en hij besloot zich ziek te melden. Vandaag heeft de rechter openlijk toegegeven dat hij niet echt ziek was, maar Modern Warfare 2-ziek. De rechter heeft een vertraging van een zeer belangrijke rechtspraak veroorzaakt, iets wat mensen zeker niet waarderen, vooral als het om de Modern Warfare 2-ziekte gaat. De gevolgen voor de beste man zijn nog onbekend.
