Infinity Ward heeft voor het verhaal achter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare scriptschrijvers van de Amerikaanse televisie geraadpleegd. ‘Call of Duty 4 neemt plaats over 30 dagen, en we willen het laten spelen als een aflevering van 24. We werken met scriptschrijvers die begrijpen hoe een sterke en episodische verhaallijn in elkaar zit,’’ zegt Grant Collier van Infinity Ward. In Call of Duty 4 heb je beschikking over een aantal karakters die ononderbroken van locatie veranderen. In vorige delen van de Call of Duty- serie veranderde de locatie door de diverse campagnes, waardoor telkens het contact met de karakters uit het verhaal verloren ging. ‘’Wie weet bijvoorbeeld naast Price en McGregor een andere karakter uit Call of Duty te herrineren?’’ aldus Collier. ‘’Nee. Ons doel is om deze karakters echt met je kennis te laten nemen, om een band met ze te hebben, en aan het eind van de game hen te herinneren. |
