Modern Warfare 2: Hardened èn Prestige Editions
Robert Bowling, beter bekend onder de naam 'fourzerotwo' heeft deze morgen een filmpje geplaatst op youtube waarin hij de verschillende edities van Modern Warfare tentoonstelde. Het gaat namelijk om drie verschillende versies: de normale editie, de 'Hardened' editie en de 'Prestige Edition'. Wat houden die allemaal in? Zoals bij veel nieuwe games en ook bij de Call of Duty games brengt men de game uit in verschillende edities. Meestal heeft men de keuze uit twee edities: gewoon het spel of de 'Collectors Editie' die meestal wat extra's bevatten. Bij Modern Warfare 2 doet men het net iets anders.
Drie verschillende versies betekend dus verschillende extra's. De normale editie is gewoon het spel zelf zonder enige extra's. De 'Hardened' editie krijgt een mooie 'Steel Cover' met een code in wat men toegang geeft tot de originele Call of Duty (die verscheen op de PC) voor de PS3 of Xbox360. Ook krijgt men een boekje met concept tekeningen van Modern Warfare 2. Met andere woorden; men krijgt een zicht op de ontwikkeling van het spel.
Prestige Edition is nog een stapje hoger. Bij deze editie krijgt men de 'Hardened' editie met nog twee extra's. Een Soap Mctavish buste èn een paar volledig functionerende 'Nightvision goggles'. Uiteraard kan men de 'Nightvision goggles' op de buste van Soap Mctavish plaatsen. Prijskaartje van de Prestige Edition is nog niet bekend. Echter gaan er geruchten dat de Prestige Edition om en bij de $119,99 of €119,99 zal kosten. De Hardened editie kost dan weer €80 euro en de normale game €60. Even ter verheldering voor degenen die de 'Collectors Edition' al hadden gereserveerd via internet of iets dergelijks: Robert Bowling had bekend gemaakt dat deze mensen hoogstwaarschijnlijk de Hardened editie hebben gereserveerd. RampUpdate: De Prestige Edition zal $150,00 kosten. De Nederlandse prijs is nog niet bekend en we weten ook niet of er ook een PC-versie gaat verschijnen. Wij weten nog niks over leverbaarheid in Nederland (en België), als Activision daar informatie over prijsgeeft, zul je dat vanzelf op deze site kunnen lezen. |

Leuk.
Maar bij de 2 andere edities staat er geen Call of Duty meer boven de titel.
wat word er bedoeld met een code in wat men toegang geeft tot de originele Call of Duty?
krijg je nu gewoon de oude Call of Duty er bij?... die hebben de meesten toch al? of zou hier iets bijzonders mee zijn.

Dit is geen instant messaging dus je kunt beter niet wachten op een direct antwoord.
Waarom maakt men een onderscheid tussen de drie verschillende platforms waarvoor ze Call of Duty uitbrengen? Ik zou het niet weten en dat zou je aan Treyarch/Infinity Ward of nog beter, aan Activision moeten vragen.
Persoonlijk denk ik echter dat men er van overtuigd is dat de console versies van de game meer worden verkocht en daarom dat ze ook enkel voor de consoles de 'Prestige Edition/Hardened Edition' uitbrengen.
Maar men heeft nog niets officieël bevestigd rond de Prestige Edition voor de PC. Het kan in feite alle kanten nog op. Persoonlijk zou ik er niet te veel op hopen want IW heeft een gewoonte van PC gebruikers in de rug te schieten. |

Pff geef mij maar gwn de game.  Die Hardened editie moet ik niet hebben want cod 1 heb ik toch al en zo'n boekje en een shiny cover heb je niks aan. Daarvoor ga ik geen €20,00 meer betalen!
En die prestige editie. Tja zo'n nightvision lijkt mij wel cool (tenminste als het goed werkt). Maar de prijs!! pfff Ik noiet hoor. |

alle edities zullen in europa verkrijbaar zijn. ikweet niet of de pc ook de prestige edition krijgt. ik denk van wel. maar als ik dit zo allemaal zie en zo. denk ik ook dat dit een console actie is. we wachten af. |

Overbelasting zo blijkt, wat nogal logisch is gezien de populariteit van Modern Warfare čn de 'publiciteitsstunts' die IW/Activision keer op keer doen.
Het argument dat er onder de PC gamers meer mensen zitten die illegale kopieën van spellen downloaden en spelen vind ik afgezaagd en erg mager. Cijfer kun je naar je hand zetten wat ook constant gebeurt. Overigens zijn een groot deel van degenen die illegale kopieën van bepaalde spellen downloaden dezelfde gameers die nadat ze het eenmaal hebben gespeeld naar de winkel stappen om daar de game aan te schaffen.
Laten we zeggen, 'try it before you buy it'. Overigens kunnen ontwikkelaars betere middelen vinden tegen de piraterij van games. Kijk naar Valve... het lukt hun aardig moet ik zeggen!

Ligt eraan of het ding ook echt goed werkt of dat het zo'n Prul is.
Lijkt me wel vet trouwens, maar ja ik koop de gewone PC versie wel. Wat moet ik nou met een nightvision.
