Vandaag zijn er volgends een gerucht een aantal details bekend geworden over het aankomende nieuwe Call of Duty deel; Modern Warfare 2! Het betreft een gerucht, dus we kunnen niet met zekerheid zeggen of het een grap betreft of dat dit echte details zijn. - Er zullen voertuigen zijn in MW2
- De m16 zal terug komen in MW2.
- De Ak47 en de M4 zullen terug komen in MW2.
- M40 komt terug, ACOG damage boost wordt gemaakt.
- Scorpion, P90, M21, R700, G3, G360 zullen niet terug komen in MW2.
- Er zijn nog meer wapens die niet zullen terugkeren in MW2.
- Er komt een nieuwe sniper rifle: SR25M (United States Forces).
- Nieuwe Assault rifle: Diemeco C8 (Canadian forces M4).
- Nieuwe Assault rifle: L85A2 (United Kingdom forces).
- Totaal aantal wapens in multiplayer zullen er ongeveer 35 zijn.
- Populaire maps uit Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare zullen terug komen.
- Helicopters, air strikes en UAV zullen terug komen.
- Red dot sight komt terug in meerdere vormen (rond, vierkant, origineel).
- Snipers zullen gras camouflage krijgen (zoals de singeplayer van Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare)
- Alle perks uit Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare zullen terug komen, behalve eavesdrop en sommige andere zullen worden vervangen.
- Alle gametypes zullen terugkeren, en zullen ook allemaal hardcore versies krijgen.
- Nieuwe gametype: Secure (Call Of Duty version van capture the flag, alleen steel je nu niet een vlag maar vijandelijke informatie)
- Nieuwe gametype (met onbekende naam) waarbij je een specifieke speler uit het vijandelijk team zult moeten killen.
- Solider aanpassingen zullen er zijn voor elk team.
- Sniper met silencers zullen er niet zijn in de multiplayer.
- Er komen geen bots in de multiplayer.
- Er komt een soortgelijk idee als Nazi Zombies, maar verdere details zijn nog onbekend.
- Je kan kills die gemaakt worden en terug worden bekeken via de killcam opslaan.
- Er zal "blood and gore" zijn.
- Offline/Online Co-op
- Het verhaal speelt zich af in het Midden-Oosten.
- Rol als US marines komt terug.
- Ken Lally zal een stem inspreken in de singeplayer.
- Release zal zijn ergens in november.
- Er komen "singleplayer-only" wapens.

Uiteraard zijn er dingen in deze lijst die me toch leuk/aangenaam in de oren klinken zoals (eindelijk) verschillende red dot's. Tevens toch wat meer variaties.
Maar uiteindelijk waren dat dingen die al lang in Call of Duty 4 hadden moetten zitten. Tevens ben ik niet zo tevreden met het feit dat ze nog steeds doorgaan met het perk systeem... ze blijven de populaire koe uitmelken. Het is niet omdat een product populair is dat het ook goed is?
Maarja fanboys vinden dit goed hé? Ok, Infinity Ward komt met weinig nieuws op de proppen (ze 'stelen' zelfs van die andere, inferieure developer Treyarch)... maar ach, dat is totaal anders dan dat Treyarch de basis van Call of Duty 4 gebruikte.

- In de lijst hier staan veel door Treyarch features, waarvan ik niet echt geloof dat IW die overneemt.
Verder vind ik het weinig bijzonder, die features hierboven. Ik hoor niks over de engine, over de setting (alleen vaag 'midden-oosten')...
En dan over de wapens opeens heel gedetailleerde info. Opmerkelijk.

Ik ben niet zo'n big fan boy van IW, maar ik verwacht gewoon een stuk hogere kwaliteit van hen dan van Treyarch.
Ik herken in deze lijst echt IW gewoon niet, niet per se om de kwaliteit o.i.d. maar om de manier van denken en realiseren.
