| Fourzerotwo over geruchten Call of Duty 4 |

Fourzerotwo wordt er zelf ook gek van: de geruchten over Call of Duty 4. Als reactie daarop heeft de Community Manager enkele geruchten keihard ontkent in een inmiddels speciaal gemaakt subforum op Infinity Ward. Hoewel de beruchte screenshots en het geripte filmpje door de meeste mensen al links is gelegd, bevestigd Fourzerotwo nog eens dat het echt geen Call of duty 4 is.
Een aantal dagen geleden kwamen er uit een onbekende hoek een aantal screenshots, dat moest duiden op de volgende Call of Duty titel. Wij zijn gevleid… werkelijk.. we zijn. Deze ‘screenshots’ zijn echt… en met ‘echt’, ik bedoel letterlijk. Het zijn daadwerkelijke foto’s. Geen screenshots van welke game dan ook , aldus Fourzerotwo.
Daarnaast was er nog een filmpje (link) geript van een andere onbekende online game en is aangeduid als gelekte Call of Duty 4 gameplay video. Geen Call of Duty 4 dus. Fourzerotwo noemt de mensen die de geruchten bewust verspreiden, slechts mensen die op zoek zijn naar het eerste zijn van het publiceren van ‘breaking news’.
Zelf kan de Community Manager er wel om lachen. In alle eerlijkheid, ik waardeer de muur van gekke geruchten die worden verspreid als ‘wildfire’, ze zijn altijd goed voor een lach wanneer ik ’s ochtends mijn inbox open.

| Illusion en Pterodon onthullen nieuwe Moskouse oorlogsgame

De Tsjechische website Tiscali Games weet ons te melden dat Illusion Softworks en Pterodon aan een nieuwe game bezig zijn voor de Playstation 3, Xbox 360 en de PC. Illusion bracht eind jaren negentig de revolutionaire game Hidden & Dangerous uit, en een paar jaar geleden kwam daarop het geslaagde vervolg. De studio werd tevens beroemd met het fantastische Mafia, een gangstergame die door velen als één van de beste games ooit wordt gezien. Pterodon is de maker van Vietcong en Vietcong 2. Nu zijn deze gerespecteerde ontwikkelstudio s dus samen bezig met een nieuw next-gen project.
Over de game is nog weinig bekend, maar er zijn al beelden en beschrijvingen van. Het gaat om een oorlogsgame waarbij de omgeving voor een groot deel verwoestbaar is (rondvliegend puin, granaten die kraters achterlaten). Verder zul je goed dekking moeten zoeken en soms je moment afwachten. De game zal vermoedelijk Moscow Rhapsody gaan heten.
Volgens ingewijden deed het filmpje van deze game nog het meest denken aan Call of Duty: een aantal gescripte acties, meeslepende muziek en veel teammaten.
Het filmpje dat getoond werd vond plaats rondom het Rode Plein in een zeer interactief Moskou. De gameplay zou doen denken aan Black en Battlefield: Modern Combat. Verder lijkt de game zich af te spelen in het heden dan wel de nabije toekomst, vanwege de uitrusting van de soldaten.
De eerste plaatjes, welke uit het filmpje geknipt zijn, zijn hieronder te bewonderen. Hopelijk krijgen we spoedig zelf dit filmpje te zien en meer te horen over deze veelbelovende game.
