De organisatie achter de Britse BAFTA Video Game Awards 2008 heeft een verklaring gegeven waarom Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare als in 2007 gepubliceerde titel toch meedoet met de aankomende awardshow. Volgens de organisaties heeft Activision het recht om Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in plaats van Call of Duty: World at War mee te laten doen. De game van Infinity Ward moest de awardshow in 2007 missen. Call of Duty: World at War, een titel die wel in 2008 is uitgebracht, ontbreekt namelijk in de lijst met nominaties. Activision heeft er voor gekozen om de game van Infinity Ward mee te laten doen, omdat de game de deadline voor de nominaties van de BAFTA's 2007 niet haalde. ''We kunnen alleen die games beoordelen die zijn toegevoegd voor de BAFTA verkiezingen,'' aldus de organisaties. De organisaties betwijfelt overigens of Call of Duty: World at War volgend jaar mee zal doen met de awardshow omdat de game de deadline van dit jaar niet heeft gemist. De game van Infinity Ward is de grote favoriet voor de aankomende awardshow in Londen. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is BAFTA Awards is namelijk in maar liefst acht categorieën genomineerd. De game maakt onder meer kans op een award voor 'Best Game', 'Multiplayer' en 'Story and Character'. |

Dit is nu weer typisch een opmerking die nergens op slaat.
Wat activision doet of niet doet het draait toch enkel om winst.
En zeggen dat iw het beter doet dan treyarch is ook een opmerking die kant nog wal raakt.
Even op wikipedia leert dat graymatter diegene die de expansion pack maakte inmiddels al jaren onder de treyarch vlag werkt.
En een simpel optel sommetje leert dan dat treyarch toch echt de meeste call of duty titels op hun conto heeft.
Komt bij dat activision geld wil verdienen en de community zeer verdeeld en bevooroordeelt is ten opzichte van infinity ward.
Dus wat doe je als game industry tycoon kijken naar waar wat de community roept verkoop cijfers servers online, oneerlijke strijd de linux bins voor cod world at war komen pas deze week .
Daarom is het echt niet zo gek dat activision blizzard deze keuze heeft gemaakt het is eerder een tactische zet , draait nu eenmaal om de dollars.
En laten we eerlijk wezen elke came in de call of duty serie heet aanloop problemen gekent en had meerdere patches nodig om echt goed te lopen.
Ja treyarch is meer vertrouwt met console games , maar heeft wel de ballen om het ook voor de pc te doen, ook al duurde het erg lang eer de support op gang kwam voor de game en de mappers en modders en was het juiste de community die hun inlichte wat er fout ging op alle fronten.
Blijkbaar heeft men daar van geleerd en wordt er terdege hard gewerkt om deze game een waardige naam te geven in de serie call of duty.

Ik ben het ook eens! Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was "de" game, Call of Duty: World at War is eigenlijk "een kopie in een ander sfeertje" van CoD4. Groot gelijk hebben ze! Ik denk wel dat CoD4 meer kans heeft om in de prijzen te vallen dan CoD:WaW. Dat bewijst ook deels dat Activision CoD4 beter vinden dan CoD:WaW, daar ben ik het tevens ook mee eens!
En laten ze volgend jaar maar Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 meedoen |
