Treyarch heeft de verandering van de bolt-action rifles in Call of Duty: World at War na de uitgave van patch 1.2 verklaard. Community manager Josh Olin liet op het officiële Call of Duty forum weten dat de schade na een shot op het bovenlichaam is verhoogd. Na de uitgave van de tweede patch was er veel onduidelijkheid over de verandering. In de lijst met wijzigingen voor patch 1.2 stond 'Fine tuned Bolt-Action Rifles for balance.' Veel gamers klaagden over de wazige berichtgeving. Josh Olin, op het forum bekend als JD_2020 antwoordde daarop licht geïrriteerd. ''Wat veel van jullie lijken te doen is te zoeken naar een controverse waar die eigenlijk niet is. Dat moet ophouden, omdat het alleen maar zielig is,'' aldus de community manager.

Wel vind ik goed die update van de bold rifles, want telkens als ik iemand bv in zijn pens (maag) schoot loopt hij gwn rustig door.
en als je dan terug moet w8ten op de volgende kogel dan is hij als weg.
Ook vind ik dat dit een uitspraak is waar niet is over nagedacht.
