Josh Olin van Treyarch legde enkele weken geleden uit hoe het maken van een gamepatch in zijn werk ging. Het 'vijffaseplan' was geboren. De community manager legde per fase van ontwikkeling uit welk werk werd verricht en hoeveel tijd er nodig was om een fase te voltooien. Doel: de community duidelijk maken waarom het maken van patches zo veel tijd in beslag neemt. Zodoende kreeg men een prettig gedetailleerd kijkje achter de schermen. Enfin, redactielid Ahreneas vond het een tweede blik waard en vertaalde de uitleg van Olin naar het Nederlands. En hier te lezen. |

Nee, dat ben ik niet met je eens. Het artikel geeft goed beeld weer over de werkwijze bij het maken van een gamepatch. Ook bij Infinity Ward zal het maken van een patch via een soortgelijke weg gaan.
Echter de gegeven 'geschatte tijd' is voor iedere patch natuurlijk anders en dat wordt - als het artikel tenminste hebt gelezen! - ook duidelijk uitgelegd in het artikel!
Overigens, na Call of Duty 2 moesten wij ook heel lang op een patch wachten. Infinity Ward had TOEN ook maanden nodig. En de ontwikkelaar heeft immers twee mogelijkheden: of het uitbrengen van meerdere kleinere patches, of het uitbrengen van enkele grote patches. Het is maar waar je voor kiest. En Treyarch koos het tweede.
