Vandaag heeft NovemberDobby, de bekende modder achter de Dobby's Zombie mod voor Call of Duty 4: MW, bekend gemaakt dat hij zijn al eerder aangekondigde Zombie Mod voor Call of Duty: World at War vanavond als beta beschikbaar gaat stellen in zijn gameserver. Zijn woorden op zijn forum waren: "You're right. Especially as the beta begins tonight". So guys, stay tuned in, en wellicht kunnen we vanavond nog eventjes genieten van de nieuwe Zombie Mod van NovemberDobby!
Update: De mod is te spelen! Wat moet ik doen om mee te kunnen doen?!- Eerst moet je de files downloaden vanaf deze pagina. Je moet beide files downloaden dus sla ze ergens in een mapje op waar je ze nog terug kan vinden, bij voorkeur je desktop.
- Ga dan naar het uitvoer scherm (in Windows XP is dat Start > Uitvoeren , in Vista kan je gewoon Uitvoeren typen in de zoekbalk).
- Daar in plak je de volgende tekst en druk je op enter: %USERPROFILE%Local SettingsApplication DataActivisionCoDWaWmods .
- Maak in de directory waar je nu uit komt een map, die je zom_dbtest noemt, en zet de twee bestanden die je gedownload hebt in die map.
Daar na kan je de test server joinen, het ip van de server is: 193.47.83.169:28941. Veel plezier toegewenst!

Ik moet echt niets hebben van die zombie mods, maar het is leuk om te zien dat er mensen bezig zijn met mods.
Er is ook nieuws van het GFM (German Front Mod) team. Zij zijn ook bezig met Base Assault, 'oude' United Offensive maps en nog veel meer over te zetten in World at War.
Kijk in het PC sub forum van de officiële Call of Duty boards. Er staan links bij naar screenshots en 1 klein filmpje! |

Dat bedoelde ik niet... ik ben erg geïnteresseerd in mods en zie ze allemaal graag komen. Specifiek heb ik het niet zo voor zombie mods (vooral niet in Call of Duty omdat de game het niet echt toelaat... de Co-Op zombie afslachting is zeer goed uitgewerkt, maar daar blijft het bij).
Modificaties zoals GFM zijn erg goed... zo zouden er meer mods moeten zijn & deze modteams moeten steun genieten van de developers naar mijn mening. Officiële modondersteuning zodat je ook 'ranked' kan spelen (indiend de modders/spelers dat willen) met die specifieke mod(s).
Ook 'skins' (die de game Counter Strike Source ook nog zo populair maakt) zijn erg goede mods naar mijn mening. Op deze manier kun je de game zelf aanpassen naar eigen smaak (en voor mij betekend dat hogere kwaliteit texturen, meer detail & realistischere 'skins').
Zoals bijvoorbeeld de Wehrmacht skin van Ferry/Ferran... vrij bekende skinner voor Call of Duty 2. Hij maakte erg veel realistische 'High Resolution' skins voor Call of Duty 2 en is sinds kort opnieuw gestart met skinnen voor World at War.
