Waarschijnlijk zitten de meesten van jullie op dit moment aan de oliebollen, champagne of achter de televisie. Wij van de redactie willen de jaarwisseling echter niet zomaar stil aan ons voorbij laten gaan. Deze laatste uurtjes van 2008 blikken we nog even terug op het afgelopen Call of Duty jaar.
Want wat een jaar was het weer voor Call of Duty.nl. We hebben weer met alle enthousiasme het nieuws rond Call of Duty 4 en Call of Duty: World at War gebracht. Bovendien kondigde Activision deel zes van de Call of Duty serie al aan. Kortom: perfect!
We willen allereerst Barsukova bedanken voor zijn bijzondere bijdrage aan het nieuwsposten afgelopen jaar. Heel erg bedankt! Verder ook een applaus voor StevenW, Mr. Bluezone, Ramon van onze hoster Interactive 3D (en zijn collega's natuurlijk ook!) en Activision Benelux voor de prettige samenwerking. We heten Ahraneas, onze nieuwste aanwinst, tenslotte van harte welkom.
En dan nu, het jaaroverzicht.
Januari 2008
Als we terugblikken op januari belanden we in de periode dat Call of Duty 4 net anderhalve maand uit is. De game is enorm aangeslagen en boekt op elk terrein grote successen. Infinity Ward bracht in januari de Mod Tools uit, waarmee de community zelf aan de slag kan gaan met het maken van modificaties en custom mappen. Januari was ook de maand dat kriDje in het team kwam als nieuwsposter. Terwijl we nog weinig weten over Call of Duty 5, kwamen we al aan de weet dat Infinity Ward begonnen is aan Call of Duty 6. Feburari 2008
Call of Duty 4 krijgt in februari haar vijfde patch. Ook kregen we te horen dat haar opvolger, Call of Duty 5, ook voor de PC komt en door Treyarch ontwikkeld zou worden. Ondertussen is Call of Duty 4 erg populair geworden op Xbox Live. De Xbox360 is het ook die deze maand een patch kreeg met nieuwe killcams en enkele nieuwe features. Maart 2008
Deze maand kregen we te horen dat er nieuwe multiplayermappen op komst waren voor Call of Duty 4. Maar details kregen we nog niet op ons bordje. Eerst werd ontwikkelaar Infinity Ward uitgeroepen als tweede beste gameontwikkelaar ter wereld. Niet gek, want Call of Duty 4 is zo'n succes geworden dat de game Halo 3 op Xbox Live versloeg en daarmee op de eerste plek terecht kwam. April 2008
1 aprilgrappen waren er dit jaar ook weer. Bluezone bracht 'patch 1.6' uit, een mooie verzameling van Call of Duty 4 wallpapers en avatars. Helaas vertrok in april Tjeerd uit de community, iemand die ons jarenlang heeft geholpen en veel betekent heeft voor de site en de community erachter. kriDje neemt zijn taken over. De nieuwe mappen voor Call of Duty 4 komen weer op het toneel. Infinity Ward komt met de verrassing dat de map Chinatown een remake is van Carentan uit Call of Duty 1 en Call of Duty 2. De Xbox360 kreeg de mappen als eerste via Xbox Live Marketplace, die door de enorme vloedgolf van toegestroomde fans de capaciteit niet meer aan kon en daardoor enkele uren offline was. De mappen kwamen twee weken later ook voor de Playstation 3 uit. De game zelf was ondertussen al ruim 9 miljoen keer over de toonbank gegaan. Activision fuseerde in april met Vivendi tot Activision Blizzard. April was tenslotte ook nog de maand dat we te weten kwamen dat Call of Duty 5 in Oost-Azië zou afspelen. Mei 2008
Mei was een maand waarin weinig gebeurde. Enkele nieuwe mods kwamen uit, zo kwam KiLL3R met zijn K3 mod voor Call of Duty 4. Ook kwam GTA IV uit, die twee weken op nummer 1 stond op Xbox Live. Daarna kwam Call of Duty 4 weer bovenaan.
Juni 2008
Aan het begin van de maand juni kregen ook de PC gamers de vier nieuwe mappen voor Call of Duty 4. De actie werd gesponsord door NVidia en zodoende werden de mappen gratis aangeboden en kwamen uit via patch 1.6. Juni was trouwens ook de maand waarin de belangstelling verschoof van Call of Duty 4 naar Call of Duty 5. We kregen te horen dat er een co-op mode in het spel zou zitten en dat we ook met voertuigen het online battlefield onvelig zouden kunnen maken. De eerste screenshots werden al getoond en de reveal trailer kwam uit. Daarmee werd ook bekend dat de nummering afgeschaft is en dat Call of Duty 5 anders zou heten: Call of Duty: World at War. Voor alle screenshots, filmpjes en nieuws werd de nieuwe Call of Duty.com website gelanceerd. De ondersteuning van Call of Duty 4 werd beeindigd nadat patch 1.7 deze maand uitkwam. Omdat het modden nog steeds voor veel variatie zorgde in Call of Duty 4 hielden we eens een interview met PatManSan van de modding community eXtreme+. Juli 2008
In juni gebeurde er weinig bijzonders. Er werd af en toe wat nieuws gepost over Call of Duty: World at War. Zo kwamen we aan de weet dat Kiefer Sutherland zijn stem zou verlenen aan de game en kregen we nieuwe screenshots te zien.
Augustus 2008
In augustus werd Call of Duty 6 officieel door Activision aangekondigd. Zoals we al lang wisten, zou Infinity Ward verantwoordelijk zijn voor de ontwikkeling. Geruchten deden de ronde dat deel zes de kant van science fiction op zou gaan. Het modden ging ook in augustus vrolijk verder: eXtreme+ kwam met hun laatste modificatie voor Call of Duty 2, enkele slimme koppen lukten het om vliegtuigen te laten vliegen door Call of Duty 4 en ook kwam de mod Before the Dawn uit, waarmee men in Call of Duty 4 op zombies kon schieten. Het World at War nieuws stond natuurlijk ook niet stil: er werden voor het eerst footages vertoond, we kregen te horen dat ook Gary Oldman meewerkt aan deel vijf en de eerste varianten van de perk- en wapenlijsten deden de ronde. Augustus is natuurlijk ook de maand van de Game Conference in Leipzig, waar ook World at War groots aanwezig was. Augustus sloten we af met de bekendmaking van de releasedatum van World at War. September 2008
Opnieuw beweerden sommige sites dat Call of Duty 6 de scifi setting zou gaan dragen. Aangezien het geruchten bleef, besloten we er ons maar niet druk om te maken. We kregen de eerste bewegende beelden te zien van de multiplayer van Call of Duty: World at War. Ook zijn wij van de redactie een kijkje wezen nemen op de Firstlook. Helaas werdt er weinig nieuws over Call of Duty: World at War getoond. De beta van World at War werd aangekondigd voor de maand oktober. Om het lange wachten hierop plezierig te maken gingen we paintballen met de Call of Duty 4 Paintball mod, die in september werd vrijgegeven. Okbober 2008
Eerlijk gezegd is het eerste waar ik aan denk bij oktober 2008 de rommelige en chaotische beta van World at War. Er werd door Treyarch steeds geen datum genoemd en dat zorgde voor veel verontrustende gamers. Want iedereen wilde natuurlijk eens kijken of Treyarch wel echt haar mooie beloftes kon waarmaken. Voordat de beta dan tóch uiteindelijk uitkwam, verscheen de Mac-versie van Call of Duty 4 en kreeg Call of Duty.nl een nieuw jasje. Verder verschenen natuurlijk weer nieuwe screenshots, wallpapers en trailers van Call of Duty: World at War. Na meerdere weken beta-gezeik verscheen hij dan toch: eerst voor de Xbox360 en twee weken later ook voor de PC. In deze multiplayer beta konden we als eerste een gedeelte van de multiplayer spelen en maakten we trouwens ook meteen kennis met wat irritante bugs. Gelukkig was het maar een beta. Gametrailers.com kwam ondertussen met de leuke onthulling van de Nazi Zombie mode. Het einde van de maand naderde, en daarmee ook de release van World at War. We kregen wat screenshots te zien van de andere multiplayer mappen.
November 2008
November was natuurlijk de maand van Call of Duty: World at War. De eerste review die uitkwam durfde de game al een 10 te geven. De beta van World at War was nog maar enkele dagen gestopt en de persversie van de game werd al illegaal aangeboden via Internet. Spoilers genoeg dus. Op 11 november kwam de game uit in de Verenigde Staten en Treyarch gaf dezelfde dag nog patch 1.1 vrij, welke heel wat bugs uit de stock game verhielp. Rond de release hebben we ook nog wat mooie specials op de site gezet. Robert Bowling van Infinity Ward haalde in novembers uit naar Noah Teller van Treyarch want hij vond dat Treyarch te veel leunde op het succes van Call of Duty 4.
Leunend of niet, succes heeft Call of Duty: World at War wel. Of de game beter is dan Call of Duty 4 is moeilijk te zeggen, maar Treyarch heeft in ieder geval beter gepresteerd dan de meesten van deze 'slechte ontwikkelaar' verwacht hadden. De game verkocht de eerste week al erg goed en ook Southpark speelde Call of Duty: World at War. O ja, in november hebben we ook een blunder gemaakt. We plaatsen namelijk de mooie soundtracks van de game op onze site, iets wat Activision niet zo waardeerde en een telefoontje uit de VS was het gevolg. Treyarch bracht deze maand meteen al de mod tools uit voor World at War. Helaas zitten er nog erg veel bugs in de PC-versie van het spel, waardoor veel sites adviseren om te wachten met het uitgeven van mods. December 2008
De laatse maand van het jaar. December begon met de aankondiging van downloadable content voor Call of Duty: World at War. Maar er werd nog meer aangekondigd: zo maakte Activision bekend dat Call of Duty 6 de naam Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 zal dragen. Dit lijkt natuurlijk een beetje tegen de geruchten in de gaan, want Modern Warfare 2 duidt op een vervolg van Call of Duty 4 en zal dus niet zo futuristisch zijn als waar we bang voor waren. Afgelopen maand was er ook een dubbele XP week voor de LE-bezitters van World at War en plaatsen wij een uitgebreide review van de game, waarin we de game van Treyarch het cijfer 8.6 toekenden. Ook merkten we op Youtube een filmpje op waarin de ray gun Easer Egg werd onthuld. Ondanks de nog niet uitgebrachte patch 1.2 werden de eerste custom Nazi Zombie mappen uitgebracht.
Infinity Ward heeft overigens bekend gemaakt te stoppen met het ondersteunen van Call of Duty 4. Ze zijn immers al volop bezig met Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Wie weet wat voor moois 2009 weer voor ons in petto heeft! In ieder geval belooft het volgend jaar weer een bijzonder leuk Call of Duty jaar te worden.

Zoals Just Me al zegt, November was een erg leuke maand voor ons COD'ders!  Daarnaast was de rest ook reuze interessant, aangezien Activision en Treyarch ons wel een half jaar hebben zoetgehouden met allerhand screenshots, trailers, en andere content over World at War. Op een net zo interessant 2009! |

Wat een geweldig jaar voor call of duty lovers, mei was voor mij een leuke maand met de kill3r 1.2 mod en zombie mod.
Later bleek dat er een file in zat dat er niet goed was een was snel opgevolgd met de kill3r 1.3 beta, dat tot deze dag vindt ik het leukste mod van 2008.
OKBOBER (zoals kridje het noemt) was WaW Beta dit was het voorbeeld WHAT WAS TO COME, bug naar bug en een patch voor de spel op de markt was.
Ik wens iedereen een shooting nieuwe jaar.

Tja, ik zit thuis bij m'n ouders.... had eigenlijk gehoop dat vrienden van mij plannen hadden voor te feesten e.d maar dat bleek dus niet zo te zijn.
Thuis gebleven, wat TV gekeken, wat gedronken en daar bleef het bij. Niet echt wat ik in gedachten had. Vooral niet na het 'jaareinde met een been in het gips'. Daar hang ook weer een heel verhaal aan vast. Kort gezegd: had net voor kerst wat hout gaan klieven: heel grote houtblokken. 1 ervan was op m'n voet gevallen en dat was niet zo goed uitgekomen. Naar de spoed en uiteindelijk een hoop hechtingen om het geval aan elkaar te houden.
Je ziet er zo goed als niets meer van, al een geluk... maar m'n feestdagen van toen (2 jaar terug) waren zo goed als verkloot...
Achja, het is al 2009... laten we hopen dat alles beter gaat! Laten we hopen dat (bij mij) de studies wat beter gaan... meer loze beloftes en 'vage' hoop.
(sorry voor het realisme... anderen zullen het meer als pessimisme ervaren =))

Oktober was een verschrikkelijke maand, omdat iedereen bleef whinen om de beta - hoe vaak hebben we gelezen "Ja, maar Xbox heeft 'm al! Niet eerlijk!", tot nu dus blijkt dat Xbox 'm ook maar amper twee weekjes eerder had .
November was natuurlijk een geweldige maand, met de release van World at War, een maand waar we nog steeds plezier aan beleven

If you have some specific local security policies that pertain to only a single NAC Appliance Server, you can use NAC Appliance Manager's web console to configure those as well.
