| Activision moet stoppen met misleidende reclame |

Activision is opgedragen de tv reclames van Call of Duty 2 en Call of Duty: the Big Red One niet meer uit te zenden. Volgens de Engelse Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) zou de reclame niet representatief zijn voor het eindproduct en dus misleidend. Het gaat hier om de reclames die ook in Nederland op tv waren te zien. In de reclames was pre-rendered materiaal te zien zonder dat aangegeven werd dat het niet om gameplay footage ging.
Hoewel het niet moeilijk is om uit te vogelen dat het hier niet om in-game materiaal gaat, zijn er hierover toch een aantal klachten binnengekomen. Officieel moet reclame dan ook een getrouw beeld weergeven van het uiteindelijke product. Activision ontkent niet dat het gaat om pre-rendered beelden, maar verdedigt zich wel door te zeggen dat het gaat om “common practice”. Het is inderdaad iets wat uitgevers wel vaker doen en daarom is het de vraag wat voor gevolgen deze uitspraak zal hebben voor de manier van reclame maken van de game-industie.

| Ik vond die beelden ook niet met de waarheid van de game overeenkomen.. Het sloeg nergens op, de game werd mooier voorgedaan dan ze werkelijk was.. Ze wisten em nog(!) mooier te maken.. |

| Zitten een paar bugs in dit systeem als je er enters tussen zet dat het bericht vanaf de enters niet worden weergegeven, maar wat ik wou zeggen dat ik het zo wel goed vind. Een beetje slimme iemand kijkt eerst op het internet, en als de reclame goed is motiveert je het ook om verder te kijken. Net zoals bij de bf2 reclame (uhum, not, die zoog) |

| er zijn zoveel games waar de reclame beter van is dan de graphics zelf. Maar COD2 heeft ook zeer goede graphics op XBOX360 en PC. En als ze de reclame nog beter konden maken nou dat is toch een pluspunt voor de makers? Bewijst alleen maar wat ze kunnen. |
