Richard Gaetan, de multiplayer producer van Far Cry 2, heeft toegegeven dat de multiplayer van de aankomende shooter lichtelijk gebaseerd is op die van Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. De multiplayer van Call of Duty 4 viel erg in de smaak bij het ontwikkelingsteam. Echter werd de online formule van Infinity Ward ‘te chaotisch’ bevonden voor Far Cry 2.
‘’We hebben het veel gespeeld, en mensen uit het team hebben het veel gespeeld, en daarna hebben we gediscussieerd. Sommige mensen wilden het precies zo hebben,’’ aldus Gaetan. Echter bleek de online formule Infinity Ward niet te werken in de aankomende Afrikaanse shooter. Zo bleek het beloningsysteem uit Call of Duty 4– zoals het unlocken van wapens – niet succesvol te zijn in het tweede deel van Far Cry.
Far Cry 2 ligt deze maand nog in de Nederlandse winkelschappen en komt uit voor de PC, PS3 en Xbox360. |

Ik neem dit Ubisoft niet kwalijk, ik zou het ook doen als ik hen was.
Ik heb de videos van de Far Cry 2 Multiplayer ook gezien, het is best cool.  |
