Dat Activision zoveel mogelijk wilt verdienen aan het succes van de Call of Duty reeks, komt steeds duidelijker naar voren. Activision maakte onlangs bekend dat er voor Call of Duty: World at War drie keer zoveel downloadable content zal verschijnen dan voor haar voorganger. Zo zal het ook mogelijk zijn om tegen betaling de zogenaaamde Experience Points aan te schaffen, zodat je sneller van rank kan verwisselen.
Downloadable content is geen vreemde term. Het gebeurt wel vaker dat er na het uitkomen van een game extra content ontwikkeld wordt die meestal tegen betaling te downloaden is. Voor Call of Duty 4 verscheen er enkele maanden terug de Variety Map Pack, een pakket dat vier extra mappen toevoegd aan de multiplayer. Hoewel deze map pack voor de PC-versie gratis verscheen via een patch, is deze voor de consoles voor een vastgestelde prijs te downloaden.
Op de website Gamer.nl werd Activision al een 'uitzuiger' genoemd, omdat de uitgever zich te veel bezig houdt met de winst. Zo wil Activision elk jaar een Call of Duty-game uitbrengen - wat tot nu toe al inderdaad gepland is - en hetzelfde wil men gaan doen met de Bond-game. |

Lol, nog meer gaan batalen voor een game die je al in de winkel hebt gekocht ? xD
Maak dan de Game duurder dan telkens losse dingen er bij kopen:
1 het is verwarrend wat heb ik nou wel gedowload
2 je komt als een 'uitzuiger' nu te voren.
en als je toch geld wil verdienen waarom maak je de game dan gewoon niet duurder bijv. 80 euro ofzo dan weet je zeker dat je winst maakt en dat iedereen je 'packs' koop en je bent van alles problemen af. Natuurlijk er blijft dan een hoge prijs die sommige mensen te duur vinden. maar een 'echte' cod fan koopt hem wel!

Logisch toch dat 'aftroggelaars' meer downloaders met zich mee brengen.
Want inderdaad ze proberen geld ten koste van de gamers.
Niet dat het terecht is om te downloaden.
Maar zo word het wel aantrekkelijker gemaakt.

Ik vermeld alleen nieuws als mensen exclusief nieuws inzenden, nieuws dat ik dus nog nergens vind. Want voordat ik je inzending bekeek had ik dit al gepost, snap je? 
Alsnog bedankt.
Verder vind ik het inderdaad jammer van Activision. Maar aan de ene kant begrijpelijk, als zoveel mensen het spel downloaden... maar het is wel een negatief gevolg voor de eerlijke mensen.
Maar verder denk ik trouwens dat de Downloadable content vooral geldt voor de consoles, omdat downloadable content op de PC niet werkt. (ik hoef niet meer te vertellen). |

| het is wel zo dat mensen de game sneller kopen als hij goedkoper is 40 ipv 50 euro dan verkoop je meer games en door de betaalde upgrades blijft er geld binnenstromen, ook nadat de meeste mensen de game hebben zeg maar. |

Toch vind ik het geld zuigerij
Kijk nou naar bijvoorbeeld Criterion Games ( de makers van Burnout )
Burnout Paradise heeft nu al 3 GRATIS downloadable content packs gekregen, en dat is niet even simpel een nieuw kleurtje voor een auto, maar zijn gewoon compleet nieuwe gebieden + dat je op motors kan rijden etc.
Waarom kunnen andere ontwikkelaars hier geen voorbeeld aan nemen ?
Dit is toch alleen maar positief voor je spel ?
Ik heb geen console , maar als ik er 1 zou hebben zou ik Burnout Paradise kopen, waarom ?
Die gasten zorgen ervoor dat je gratis content packs kan downloaden, geweldig toch ?
Dit klinkt toch vééél beter als,

Zulke mensen werden altijd al als lame bestempeld, en nu gaat men dit notabene via de officiele weg stimuleren.
