De deur van het Infinity Ward’s hoofdkantoor gaat al maanden niet open of dicht, telefoons blijven rinkelen, vragen die betrekking hebben tot een mogelijk nieuw deel van de Call of Duty serie worden alsmaar ontweken of genegeerd, monden blijven stijfdicht zitten. Infinity Ward moet bezig zijn met het ontwikkelen van een game. Wie de media hoort suggereren moet haast wel denken dat een nieuw deel van de Call of Duty serie niet meer lang op zich kan laten zitten. Maar wanneer klapt Infinity Ward uit het spreekwoordelijke boekje?
Er broeit iets bij Infinity Ward. Zo’n anderhalf jaar geleden was een slordige plaatsing van een vacature op de site van Activion ook al de dader van de aankondiging van een nieuw deel. Actvision zocht namelijk mensen voor Call of Duty 3; later ook officieel bevestigd en aangekondigd. Dit keer geen slordige vacature. Desalniettemin kunnen we vaststellen dat Infinity Ward bezig is. Vacatures voor Senior Programmar (Next-gen Consoles) en Programmer (Next Gen Consoles of PC) stonden al open, maar sinds korte tijd zijn daar ook de UI Menu Artist en de Executive Assistand bijgekomen.
Wie de releasegeschiedenis van Infinity Ward eens nader bekijkt, ondervindt een voorzichtig ritme. Zo heeft de gameontwikkelaar de neiging elke twee jaar een game te releasen. Eind 2003 was het eerste deel te vinden in de winkelschappen, twee jaar later released Infinity Ward haar tweede deel van Call of Duty. Wie dit ritme moet geloven, zal eind 2007 een titel van IW moeten verwachten. Pas in mei 2006 kwam de officiële aankondiging van Call of Duty 3.
Concrete informatie hoeven we voorlopig niet te verwachten. Maar geruchten zijn er. Stilte voor de storm? |

Het is al bekend wat CoD4 in gaat houden. Zoek gewoon wat beter op de CoD fora (tip: CoD modden) en je komt terecht bij wat CoD4 gaat inhouden. Succes  . |
