Waar een populair spel is, zijn helaas ook cheaters. Om cheaten en hacken tegen te gaan gebruikt Call of Duty op de PC anti-cheat software, dat in het spel geintegreerd wordt. Vandaag is aangekondigd dat de bekende tool PunkBuster deze taak weer op zich zal nemen in het volgende Call of Duty-deel, Call of Duty: World at War.
Dat maakte Even Balance, de ontwikkelaar van PunkBuster, vandaag bekend. In een contract met Activision is afgesproken dat de tool geintegreerd zal worden in World at War, dat ontwikkeld wordt door Treyarch.
Hoewel PunkBuster soms erg vervelend is voor de gemiddelde gamer, vormt het toch een belangrijk obstakel voor de meeste cheaters en hackers. Punkbuster neemt meestal de beste tussenweg tussen deze twee eisen en wordt in veel bekende games gebruikt. |

1. Je moet het handmatig updaten!
2. Je key code is al in gebruik
3. Je hebt gecheat online
4. De server admin kicked je via punkbuster
Maar het werkt wel redelijk goed in het algemeen! |

Tjongejonge zeg. Als je echt tegen cheaten bent heb je het gemiddelde gezeur met PB er wel voor over. En je moet af en toe gewoon handmatig updaten. Als je verder het spel legaal hebt is er niets aan de hand. Niet spelen met tooltjes en zeker geen hacks 'uitproberen'.

PB: Nog nooit problemen mee gehad en verwacht het ook niet. Laat maar komen, ik heb liever 2 min updaten, dan in elke server waar ik kom een handjevol cheaters tegenkom.

Punkbuster kan vervelend zijn , maar werkt ook best wel goed, helaas pakt punkbuster lang maar dan ook lang niet alles! In tegen deel, als ik nu wil cheaten, kan ik gewoon cheaten...zonder dat punkbuster mij pakt! Dat komt omdat ik custom cheats kan maken, zolang die custum made cheats voor weinig mensen bereikbaar zijn, zal punkbuster ze ook niet vinden en dus ook niet de hack kunnen adresseren.
Nogmaals, ik kan cheats makkelijk maken, maar ik gebruik het niet, want als ik ergens een hekel aan heb is het wel cheaten!
Hoe denk je dat topclans bijna altijd boven aan staan? Oh je dacht dat dat kwam omdat ze zo enorm skilled waren?
